Title:
HARD SINTERED ALLOY WITH SUPERIOR CORROSION RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5544533
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the title alloy for decoration parts by adding a specified amt. of chromium nitride or chromium hydride to a hard sintered alloy obtd. by sintering metal carbides or nitrides as hard phase with Ni, Co, Mo, etc. as binding phase.

CONSTITUTION: This sintered alloy consists of one or more kinds of cpds. selected from the carbides and nitrides of the IVa and Va group transition metals in the periodic table and the carbides of the VIa group transition metals as hard phase, 3W30%, of Co and/or Ni, as binding phase, optionally mixed with Mo, and 0.5W 5% of one or two out of CrH, Cr2H, etc. as additives. Hard phase, binding phase and finely divided chromium hydride are mixed so that the above compsn. is obtd., and the mixt. is press molded and sintered at 1400°C in a vacuum for 1hr.

USE: Since this alloy has high hardness, a fine surface after working, and does not corrode owing to sweat, it is suitable for use as a material for decoration parts such as a watch case.
