To obtain the subject composition usable to prepare a coating film exhibiting excellent flexibility utilizable even on a flexible substrate with low VOC(volatile organic compound, according to ASTM D-3960) level by containing a specific carbamate-functional or urea-functional compound.
This composition is composed of (A) a compound containing at least a carbonate expressed by the formula and simultaneously having plural crosslinking functional groups, and at least one crosslinking functional group of the plural groups is carbamate-functional or urea-functional group and (B) a crosslinking agent having plural groups reactive with the functional groups in the component A. Preferably, the component A is a reaction product of a mixture composed of (i) a compound containing at least a carbamate, a urea group or a group convertible to carbamate or urea, and at least one hydroxyl group and (ii) CO2, dialkyl carbonate, diphenyl carbonate or a cyclic carbonate.
