PURPOSE: To improve adaptability to an embroidery area of a hat by making a distance between the base hoop free end and a supporting unit of the basal unit side and a distance between the free end pressing unit of a pressing hoop and a pressing unit of the basal unit side respectively adjustable far and near.

CONSTITUTION: A base hoop 1 is constituted by coupling a control hoop 4 with a machine body 3 so as to be capable of far and near adjustment in the axial direction thereof, making a circular arc-shaped upper surface composed of the above-mentioned body 3 and the control hoop 4 a cloth-spreading surface 5 and forming a window 6 in the above-mentioned surface 5. In giving an embroidery to the forehead part 40a of a hat 40, the control hoop 4 is moved far or near to adjust the distance between a supporting unit 5a of the basal unit side of the above-mentioned base hoop 1 and a supporting unit 5b of the free end side to the height of the above-mentioned forehead part 40a followed by placing the hat 40 and simultaneously adjusting the embroidery area to the above-mentioned window 6. Hooks 34 of a pressing hoop 2 are then engaged with coupling units 13 and the hat 40 is fixed to the base hoop 1 by a basal side member 24 of the above-mentioned pressing hoop 2 and a free end member 23 capable of far and near adjustment in such a state that the height of the forehead part of the hat is adjusted to the distance between the supporting units 5a and 5b of the above-mentioned base hoop 1.
