Abstract:
PURPOSE:To effectively and automatically read/write by instructing the internal peripheral movement to a carriage by a floppy disk controller when a reference position signal is not detected during the external peripheral movement of the track of a head. CONSTITUTION:When the head 15 is situated at the external periphery from the track 00 position, the track 00 is not detected in a return zero, and in such a case, the carriage 13 is controlled to be moved to the external peripheral direction by the preset number of the tracks. In an ordinary case, by moving the carriage in the internal peripheral direction by making the share of 80 tracks a maximum value, the head 15 is enforced to be moved to the internal periphery from the track 00 position of the reference position. Even when the head is situated in the external peripheral side from the track 00 at the time of a start, such abnormal state is canceled. Then, the operation of the return zero is carried out again, the carriage 13 is fed and driven again to the external periphery and a reference position detector always outputs the reference signal.
