Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make the head part of a compression tool lightweight by constituting the head frame of the tool with a fibre reinforced metal comprising a ceramic fiber scattered in an aluminum or magnesium alloy.
CONSTITUTION: The head frame 1 of a compression tool is molded with a fiber reinforced metal comprising a ceramic fiber scattered in an aluminum or magnesium alloy. In this case, AA 7075, 6061 alloy or the like is used as an aluminum alloy and AZ 31 alloy or the like is used as a magnesium alloy. Also, a SiC whisker or the like is used as a ceramic fiber. According to the aforesaid construction, the head frame 1 of small weight and small deformation upon compression can be obtained.
