To obtain a head gear for protecting the back of a head, which is attachable/detachable to/from a goggle and is excellent in shock buffering for preventing the contusion of the back of a head in the case of falling down in the course of sliding on a snowboard.

The head gear attachable/detachable to/from the goggle, etc., consists of a hard plate (1) of such a shape as is curved three-dimensionally along the back of the head and covers the center of the back of the head, a shock-buffering material (2) molded so as to include and cover air from a columnar groove (5) stood uniformly at the whole shape by using transparent or opaque, elastic and soft material formed along the inside of the plate (1), and a belt fixing site provided on the surface of the plate to be integrated with the goggle. By the combination of the hard plate on the surface and the soft shock-buffering material on the surface of a head, the shock in the case of falling down is diffused and absorbed. Thus, the head gear functions significantly for preventing the contusion of the back of the head in the case of falling down.
