Abstract:
PURPOSE: To realize a head-neck coil wherein decrease in sensitivity at the cut-in part can be suppressed.
CONSTITUTION: A head-neck coil as an RF coil for MRI with a bird cage structure is formed in such a way that a plurality of arc parts are connected with each other through condensers. In addition, it is constituted of the first ring part 2a partly with projected parts or recessed parts and being approximately circular, the second ring part 2b formed by connecting a plurality of arc parts with each other through condensers and partly with projected parts or recessed parts and being arranged parallel to the first ring part and approximately circular, a plurality of elements 3 connecting each arc part at a position facing each other of the first and the second ring parts, and an current dividing means 6 dividing a high frequency electric current at least between adjoining elements wherein electricity is fed.
