When an automobile is subjected to side impact or side-rolled, an inflator 6 is operated, gas is fed into an airbag 1 and the airbag 1 is inflated. The airbag 1 push-opens a cover body and extends downwardly in a curtain shape along a side surface of a cabin, and is inflated between an occupant in the automobile and the side surface of the cabin. When the airbag 1 is inflated and deployed downwardly, a rear end side of a wire 22 is pulled by the airbag 1 and moved, and the wire 22 is in a strongly stretched condition along a lower edge of the airbag 1.
