PURPOSE: To remarkably enhance the working ability of polishing in a device for polishing magnetic heads for video or audio tape recorders, or the like, by providing such an arrangement that a head attaching jig and a rotary shaft may be divided, and they may be attached together by hooks each having an arcuated leaf spring.
CONSTITUTION: A head attaching section is divided into a head attaching jig 3 and a rotary shaft 5, the jig 3 being held by means of hooks 16 mounted onto the shaft 5. A head attaching jig guide shaft 8 is arranged in the center of the shaft 5, having its upper end projected so that the upper end serves as a fitting section 18 with respect to a recess in the jig 3. With the above-mentioned fitting section 18 the jig 3 and the shaft 5 may be coaxially incorporated together. A leaf spring supporting member of the shaft 5 is provided with hook rotating shafts 11 onto which the hooks 6 are rotatably attached. Each hook 16 consists of a leaf spring 7 and leaf spring knobs 6. The leaf spring 7 urges the jig 3 against the leaf spring supporting member 4 of the shaft 5 when the hooks 16 are mounted to the jig 3. With this arrangement, the jig 3 and the shaft 5 may be integrally rotated together.
