Title:
HEAD ROTATING TIMEPIECE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6333695
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily visually read a time from every direction by rotating a display unit through a smallest angle and directing a display in the direction of a sensor that senses the human body when either of the sensors provided on the outer side surfaces of the outer case of a clock senses the human body.

CONSTITUTION: A clock is composed of a clock outer case 2 and a display unit 4 in appearance. The clock outer case 2 has a plane configuration to which an octagon is divided into two and sensors 6aW6e, such as infrared sensors, are mounted on side surfaces. The sensors 6aW6e and the like are connected with the inside of the clock outer case 2, which houses a reference signal generator, a circuit unit 8 including a clock circuit and the like and a motor 10 connected thereto. When one of the sensors 6aW6e senses infrared rays or the like emitted from the human body, signals from the sensor that senses the human body and from a sliding contact indicative of the direction of the display unit 4 are inputted to the circuit unit 8 and, based on signals therefrom, the motor 10 is rotated whereby a time display 12 is rotated through a smallest angle to be directed in a direction wherein a human approaches.
