To provide a mechanism which holds a combiner at a service position by an engaging means comprising an engaging pawl and an engaging recessed part, and which eliminates a clearance between them perfectly when they are engaged.
The head-up display is equipped with: a combiner holding means C which holds the combiner B so as to turn from the service position to a housing position proximate to a housing A with respect to the housing A; the engaging means 4 which holds the posture of the combiner at the service position and the housing position; a releasing means 5 which releases the engagement of the engaging means; and a stopper for positioning 3 which stops the turning of the combiner at the service position. The engaging means 4 comprises: a plunger 4b energized by a spring 4a; the engaging pawl 4c formed at the tip of the plunger; and the engaging recessed part which is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the turning shaft of the combiner and in which the engaging pawl 4c is engaged at the service position and the housing position. When the engaging pawl is engaged in the engaging recessed part at the service position, the turning shaft 2 of the combiner is always elastically pressed toward the stopper by the spring.
