To provide a headlamp for a vehicle, which can improve the appearance of the headlight, while maintaining variable light distribution function.
The headlamp comprises a structure that a lamp unit 11 is axially supported freely turned on the back of an inner panel 28, and at least a projection lens 17 is exposed from an opening 29 of the inner panel 28, where a section orthogonal to a horizontal turning shaft PLR of the outer surface of a lens holder 18 is a circular arc having the horizontal turning shaft PLR as the circular arc center. This allows a clearance between the outer surface of the lens holder 18 and the periphery of the opening 29 of the inner panel 28 to be always constant before and after turning of the lamp unit 11, and the appearance to be improved. Furthermore, this enables the back of the inner panel 28 to be completely unseen, without forming a large flange section on the lens holder 18 as in the conventional headlamps.
