To solve a problem that a conventional headlamp for vehicle does not utilize effectively the light emitted from the light source and dynamic light-distribution switching cannot be obtained.
A discharge lamp 2 is arranged so that the axis Z1-Z1 of the discharge lamp 2 and the optical axis Z2-Z2 of a main reflector 3 or the axis Z3-Z3 of a projection lens 4 may cross each other on nearly horizontal plane, and a shade 5 and a second sub reflector 8 are constructed integrally. Since the posture of the second sub reflector 8 is switched over into a plurality of postures interlocked with switching of the plurality of postures of the shade 5, auxiliary light distribution patterns are obtained against a plurality of main light distribution patterns. As a result, the light emitted from the light source is utilized effectively and dynamic light distribution switching can be obtained.
