PURPOSE: To early change an irradiation territory in the intended turning direction so as to improve visibility by adjusting the irradiation territory in accordance with map information under a third control mode and prediction of road form in front of the present position, when a directional indication signal is not generated and usual running is done on the road data of map information.
CONSTITUTION: This headlamp device for vehicle is provided with a directional indication signal outputting means 11, a steering angle signal outputting means 12, a map information outputting means 30, a present position detecting means 32, and a control means 10 inputting a directional indication signal, a steering angle signal, map information, and information of the present position, so as to adjust the irradiation territory of a headlamp. When the directional indication signal is output, the control means 10 selects a first control mode, and when the first control mode is not selected and either the present position is not on the road data of the map information or the steering angle of the steering angle signal is over a fixed range, a second control mode adjusting the irradiation territory by the steering angle is selected. When the first and second control modes are not selected, a third control mode adjusting the irradiation territory is selected.
