Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently enhance visibility in a road face of a vehicle in front in turning travel, in a vehicular headlight system provided with an auxiliary lamp unit for conducting beam emission using an auxiliary luminous intensity distribution pattern for intensifying lightness in a side end part of a headlamp light distribution pattern.
SOLUTION: Blightness in a left side end part of a low-beam light distribution pattern P(L) formed by beam emission from a headlamp unit is intensified by the auxiliary luminous intensity distribution pattern Pa formed by the beam emission from the auxiliary lamp unit. A highly-luminous intensity area HZ1 of the auxiliary luminous intensity distribution pattern Pa is formed to be partially overlapped with a highly-luminous intensity area HZ(L) of the low-beam light distribution pattern P(L), to connect the low-beam light distribution pattern P(L) smoothly to the auxiliary luminous intensity distribution pattern Pa. Beam emission intensity from the auxiliary lamp unit 18 is regulated by a dimming unit to intensity the blightness of the low-beam light distribution pattern P(L) by the auxiliary luminous intensity distribution pattern Pa of blightness in response to a traveling condition of the vehicle.
