This headrest device has the headrest 3 installed on a seat 2 of a vehicle 1 and movably arranged in the longitudinal direction to the seat 2 by driving of a motor 41, and is provided with a driving mechanism 4 for moving the headrest 3 in the forward direction to the seat 2 by the driving of the motor 41 when receiving a predicting-detecting signal from a sensor 6 for predicting and detecting a collision of the vehicle 1 and capable of moving and adjusting the headrest 3 in the longitudinal direction to the seat 2 by intermittently controlling the driving of the motor 41 by operation of an occupant at ordinary time of receiving no predicting-detecting signal from the sensor 6.
