To prevent increase in the number of needle holes formed in the cardiac tissue around a valve ring and to prevent extension of the period for the operation by accurately selecting the size of an artificial valve ring before the artificial valve ring is fixed to the valve ring and eliminating the replacement of the once-fixed artificial valve ring, and to prevent the increase in the treatment cost by eliminating the artificial valve ring to be discarded.
A pseudo valve ring 2 with the shape corresponding to the shape of the artificial valve ring for the mitral valve MV is formed. The pseudo valve ring 2 has a projecting part 2c for winding a thread 60 for sewing the artificial valve ring. The thread 60 is wound around the projecting part 2c after the pseudo valve ring 2 is put on the valve ring of a patient, and the pseudo valve ring 2 is fixed to the valve ring. A valve function evaluation test is implemented in this state. If the result of the test is good, the artificial valve ring corresponding to the pseudo valve ring 2 is fixed to the valve ring. If the result of the test is not good, the pseudo valve ring 2 is changed, and the valve function evaluation test is implemented again.
