PURPOSE: To prevent a decomposition of hydrocarbon and generation of soot caused by the decomposition of hydrocarbon by a method wherein a heat accumulation chamber is divided into at least a low temperature side thermal accumulation zone and a high temperature side heat accumulation zone, and at least one mixed cold gas blowing part is disposed at an intermediate part of each of the zones.
CONSTITUTION: A checker is divided into two sections for a low temperature heat accumulation chamber 1b and a high temperature heat accumulation chamber 1b. At the high temperature side is generated a decomposition of hydrocarbon. Its temperature is more than 600°C, a spacing is formed at an intermediate part of both chambers, a mixing cold pipe is connected to the intermediate part to form a mixing cold part, thereby a discharging temperature of the high temperature side heat accumulation chamber 1b is prevented from being heated more than an approximate air blowing target temperature in order to adjust the mixing cold amount. In operation, a part near the upper-most part of bricks of the checker shows the highest temperature. A subsequent duct 16 shows a decreased temperature due to a presence of dispersion heat. Actually, adhesion of carbon(soot) is easily produced at the subsequent duct 16 rather than a hole in the bricks of the checker. It is possible to restrict generation of soot and its adhesion at the air blowing duct by making a heat exchanger having such a structure as described above.
