PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alumina-based composite oxide excellent in performance such as heat conductivity and abrasion resistance as well as especially chemical resistance and practically extremely useful, a heat-conductive resin composition and a coating liquid having improved heat conductivity of a resin or a formed coated film by mixing and dispersing the composite oxide in various resins, and various products excellent in performance such as heat conductivity and abrasion resistance as well as especially chemical resistance using the same.SOLUTION: There are provided: a heat-conductive composite oxide for improving heat conductivity of a resin by being mixed and dispersed in the resin, having a spinel structure mainly containing MgAlOor ZnAlOobtained by burning a raw material mainly containing an alumina-based compound and a compound of magnesium or zinc, and having absolute values of change rate of mass in chemical resistance test to hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, nitric acid and sodium hydroxide of 2% or less respectively; a heat-conducive resin composition; and a coating liquid.SELECTED DRAWING: None
