To provide a heat decomposition unit for polymer-based waste by which the carbide left after the heat decomposition of the polymer-based waste can be prevented from being graphitized, and the oxidation of the carbide can also be suppressed.
The heat decomposition unit for polymer-based waste comprises a heat exchanger 1 for heating an oxygen-free gas, a heat decomposition apparatus 5 having a heat decomposition furnace 3 which holds the polymer-based waste 2 in its inside and an external heating means 4 that externally heats the heat decomposition furnace 3 and being for generating a heat decomposition gas by decomposing the polymer-based waste 2 by contact with the oxygen-free gas heated in the heat exchanger 1, an oil recovery apparatus 6 that cools the heat decomposition gas generated in the heat decomposition apparatus 5 to recover the condensed oil, a first circulation passage 7 for feeding the residual gas left after recovering the oil in the oil recovery apparatus 6 as an oxygen-free gas into the heat exchanger 1, and a second circulation passage 8 for feeding the oil recovered in the oil recovery apparatus 6 into the heat decomposition furnace 3.
