To obtain a heat-developable photosensitive material having low fog level and high sensitivity and less liable to a tone change in raw stock preservation or after processing by incorporating specified compounds into an image-forming layer or another constituent layer on a substrate.
This heat-developable photosensitive material contains a photosensitive silver halide emulsion, organic silver salt grains, a reducing agent for silver ions and a binder on the substrate and contains a compound of the formula in an image-forming layer or another constituent layer on the substrate. In the formula, W1-W4 are each H or a monovelent substituent, at least one of W1-W4 is the monovalent substituent and W1 and W2, W2 and W3, or W3 and W4 may be boned to each other to form a ring. The proportion of a dye adsorbed on the (100) faces of photosensitive silver halide grains contained in the silver halide emulsion is 10-80% and 50 wt.% or higher of all the binders contained in the image forming layer is a polymer latex.
