PURPOSE: To miniaturize the titled heat exchanger by a method wherein the cavity within an inner cylinder of the heat exchanger is made to communicate with the clearance between the inner cylinder and an outer cylinder and a water inlet port and an water outlet port are provided in the cavity and the clearance, respectively, so that the inner cylinder is utilized as a heat accumulating tank.
CONSTITUTION: A base 11 having the water inlet port 9 and the water outlet port 10 is attached watertight to the lower end of the outer cylinder 2 of the heat exchanger 1 and the lower end of the inner cylinder 3 is supported airtight by the base 11. The cavity in the inner cylinder 3 is made to communicate with the inlet port 9 so as to make itself a water inflowing section 12 and the clearance between te inner cylinder 3 and the outer cylinder 2 is formed to become itself a water flowout section 13. In addition, a cooling medium pipe 4 is provided in the clearance between the inner cylinder 2 and the outer cylinder 3 so as to pass watertight through the cavity from the upper part of the inner cylinder 3. As a consequence, the inner cylinder 3 itself can be utilized as the heat accumulating tank so that a sufficient quantity of water is secured in the heat exchanger while the size of the heat exchanger is limited to thereby miniaturize, and to reduce the manufacturing cost of, the heat exchanger.
