PURPOSE: To produce a titled casting in double layered structure having high heat resistance easily by charging molten ordinary cast iron into a bottom mold so as to insert cooling pipes therein at the point of the time when the molten spheroidal graphite caste iron charged into said mold up to the specific position below the pipes completes solidification or is not solidified yet.
CONSTITUTION: The melt of spheroidal graphite cast iron having high heat resistance to serve as the 1st layer 5 is charged into a bottom mold at the temp. at which the fluidity thereof is not spoiled up to the position 20W50mm below cooling pipes 3 disposed in the casting mold from the surface of the bottom mold. The solidification from the bottom mold surface is awaited and at the point of the time when the top surface thereof completes solidifying or is not solidified yet, the melt of ordinary cast iron having good fluidity to serve as the 2nd layer 6 is charged gently into the mold. In this stage, the melt is melt stuck thoroughly at the boundary with the 1st layer 5 and at the same time, the cavity in the casting mold is filled without melt sticking to the pipes 3. If necessary, refractory bricks 4 are inserted in the surface of the 1st layer 5 on the inner side of the furnace.
