Abstract:
To provide a heat exchanger for a steam reformed gas having a ferrule excellent in corrosion resistance and carburization resistance.
The heat exchanger is constituted to refrigerate the gas obtained by steam-reforming hydrocarbon using a catalyst containing an alkaline metal element. The ferrule in an inlet of a heat transfer pipe of the heat exchanger is formed of a metal material satisfying both of following expressions (1) and (2) when expressing the content of Cr and Ni elements in terms of wt.%, where (1) is 2Cr-Ni>22.5 and (2) is 2Cr+0.22Ni>35.
