Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain inexpensively the reactor capable of providing easy removal of the heat of reaction and a high rate of reaction by providing a plurality of groups each consisting of straight pipes in a reactor and arranging the plurality of groups in such a manner that they cross each other.

CONSTITUTION: A group 21 consisting of straight pipes 211a, 211b and 211c, a group 22 consisting of straight pipes 221a, 221b and 221c and like pipe groups are provided in the main body 11 of a reactor having a feed port on the top and a product discharge port on the bottom. The pipe groups are arranged in such a manner that they cross each other and that a cooling medium or a heating medium passes each straight pipe. Thus, the reactive fluid fed from the feed port on the top collides against the respective straight pipes of the group 21 and flows along a plurality of paths. It collides then against the respective straight pipes of the group 22 and flows along a path in the direction crossing that of the preceding path. This fluid can be mixed when the direction of flow is changed, and it can perform heat exchange to effect heat removal or heating when it collides against the straight pipes.
