In the heat exchanger 1, a plurality of chambers are divided in the axial direction in the header pipes 2 and 32 for communicating with the inlet/outlet of a plurality of tubes 12, inlet/outlet pipes 24 and 25 are connected to the blocking end of the header pipes which communicate with the chambers, and the inlet/outlet pipes are connected to one location of the header pipes.
