To provide a heat exchanger capable of preventing or effectively suppressing damage to cells due to the expansion of a hydrogen absorbing metal.
In this heat exchanger 10, a second recessed part 26 positioned on the opening side of a first recessed part 14 is opened in the same opening direction as that of the first recessed part 14, and a bottom wall 28 is positioned on the inner side of the cells 40 more than the connection portion of sloped walls 32 and 36 adjacent to the bottom wall 28 to the sloped walls 20 and 24 thereof. Since the sloped walls 32 and 36 can be rotated about the connection portions thereof to the sloped walls 20 and 24, the bottom wall 28 can be displaced to the outside of the cells 40 without imparting an excessive tensile force to the sloped walls 32 and 36. Thus, since the bottom wall 28 is largely displaced by a pressure from the inside of the cells 40, the bottom walls 16 and 28 and the sloped walls 20, 24, 32, and 36 are largely displaced by the pressure from the inside of the cells 40 to prevent or effectively suppress cracking so as to prevent or effectively suppress damage to the cells 40.
