To provide a heat exchanger, dispensing with an evaporation trap to prevent condensed water from staying in a heat exchange case.
The heat exchange case 1 is connected to a steam supply pipe 2 through a steam ejector 6. A gas-liquid separating member 4 is connected to the downstream side of the heat exchange case 1 through a condensed water discharge pipe 3. A number of hollow long tubes 9 formed of a hydrophobic porous membrane are mounted in the gas-liquid separating member 4. A suction chamber 7 of a steam ejector 6 is connected to the upper part of the gas-liquid separating member 3 through a communication passage 15. A condensed water discharge pipe 13 is connected to the downstream side of the gas-liquid separating member 4. The steam from which heat is deprived by the heat exchanger 1 becomes condensed water to flow down with some of residual steam into the gas-liquid separating member 3. The steam separated by the gas-liquid separating member 4 is sucked into the steam ejector 6.
