To provide a compact and high-output orthogonal countercurrent heat exchanger capable of supplying the hot water of a target hot water temperature in a short time by improving an instantaneous target temperature (available rising temperature per unit time) with an actually-manufacturable structure.
In this heat exchanger constituted by arranging the flow channel of a first fluid and the flow channel of a second fluid to form orthogonal countercurrent, a small-interval flow channel block is formed by stacking a plurality of layers composed of a plurality of transverse flow channels in which the first fluid flows and a plurality of layers composed of a plurality of longitudinal flow channels in which the second fluid flows, and the plurality of small-interval flow channel blocks are connected in series in the direction to connect the transverse flow channels. The flow channels of the first fluid are connected so that the transverse flow channel of the small-interval flow channel blocks at one end is applied as an inlet and the transverse flow channel of the small-interval flow channel blocks of the other end is applied as an outlet, and further the flow channels of the second fluid are connected so that the longitudinal flow channel of the small-interval flow channel blocks of the other end is applied as an inlet, and the longitudinal flow channel of the small-interval flow channel blocks of one end is applied as an outlet.
