PURPOSE: To improve efficiency by predicting the quantity of a liquid by inputting each output of a liquid quantity detector, a liquid temperature detector and an exhcnaging heat quantity detector for a liquid storage tank and mounting a means discharging the liquid when the reaching of the quantity of the liquid to some level or higher is predicted.
CONSTITUTION: Cooling water heated by means of an internal combustion engine 1 enters a flow path 4a at the heating side of a heat exchanger 4 for the cooling water through a circulating passage 3, and returns to the internal combustion engine 1 again through a circulating passage 2. Here, the quantity of the liquid in the liquid storage tank 12 is detected by means of the waterlevel detector 23, the temperature of the liquid in the liquid storage tank 12 by means of the temperature detector 24 and the temperature of an exhaust gas flow path 8 to a heat exchanger 11 for exhaust gas by means of the temperature detector 25 respectively, and these three output is inputted to a predicting device 22. The reaching of the quantity of the liquid in the liquid storage tank 12 to some level or higher is predicted, and a control valve 27 for discharge is opened and the liquid is discharged from the liquid storage tank 12 when the reaching of the quantity of the liquid to some level or higher is predicted. Accordingly, efficiency can be improved and the device can be made small in size.
