PURPOSE: To eliminate any crystallized substances at a surface of base material and improve an energy saving characteristic by a method wherein a radiation preheating transmitting passage is arranged at an upper part within a preheating and cooling furnace, a cooling and transmitting passage for reversely transmitting material is arranged at a lower part of the preheating and cooling furnace and then medium of high temperature is fed from an outlet port of the preheating furnace.
CONSTITUTION: A main body 1 is divided into three segments of a lower stage of a preheating and cooling furnace 2, an intermediate stage of a preheating furnace 3 and an upper stage of a kiln 4. Substance to be baked W of low temperature is temporarily increased in its temperature by a radiation heat of an baked substance Wa on a cooling and transporting passage 7 to be transported in an opposite direction through a radiation transporting passage 6 of the furnace 2. Then, the product W is transported into a convection preheating and transporting passage 8 of the furnace 3, heat exchanged with medium of high temperature fed to the furnace 3 and secondarily increased in its temperature. Then, the product W is transported into the furnace 4 and baked, thereafter it is forcedly cooled in directly and then it is transported to the transporting passage 7 in the furnace 2. With this arrangement, it is possible to eliminate any crystallized substances generated on the surface of the base material at a burning stage and also to accomplish an energy saving.
