Title:
HEAT FIXING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3496168
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of an offset, etc., in a wide fixing temp. range by forming a silicone oil to form a coating film on a fixing roller of a fluorine-contained silicone oil having a specific structural unit and incorporating a specific polyester resin into toners.
CONSTITUTION: A recording material deposited with toner images is passed between the fixing roller formed with the coating film of the silicone oil on its surface and a press roller to be brought into pressurized contact with the fixing roller, by which the toner images are fixed onto this recording material. The silicone oil is formed of the fluorine contained silicone oil having the structural unit expressed by the formula and the toners contain the polyester resin obtd. from an arom. polyvalent carboxylic acid (or its anhydride) or arom. polyvalent alcohol. In the formula, X denotes 1 to 4C satd. hydrocarbon group or aryl group; Rf denotes 2 to 10C fluoroalkyl group; (n) denotes an integer from 1 to 4. As a result, the generation of the offset, etc., is obviated over the wide fixing temp. region and the winding of the recording material around the fixing roller, etc., and the contamination are prevented.
