PURPOSE: To improve the capaity of hermetical sealing by sealing between a displacer piston shaft and a cylinder and between a power piston shaft and the cylinder respectively by a flexible partition wall.
CONSTITUTION: A shaft 4 projected on a displacer piston 2 is fitted into a cylinder 11 provided within the upper side of a power piston 3 for using the displacer piston 2 as a free piston. A flexible partition wall 18 is fast set between the shaft 4 and the inner side of a cylinder 1 and its upper side chamber 16 is connected to an upper chamber 10 via a heater 9, a regenerator 8, and a cooler 7. A flexible partition wall 19 is also fast set between a shaft 5 of the power piston 3 and the inner side of the cylinder 1. This construction permits to obtain hermetical spaces 20 and 21 between two flexible partition walls 18 and 19.
