PURPOSE: To provide a heat insulating pipe which can simply be fabricated at a work site, is excellent in flame resistance, and can also be used for transferring fluid or gas high in temperature.
CONSTITUTION: The circumferential surface of a copper pipe 11 is covered with a heat protecting layer 12 made of highly foamed polyethylene. A foamed layer 13 in an inorganic matter filled polyolefin family is disposed over the circumferential surface of the heat protection layer 12. A polyester tape 21 is wound over the circumferential surface of the foamed layer 13 in an inorganic matter filled polyolefin family while being overlapped by a quarter. An inorganic matter filled polymer protecting layer 14 in a crimped pipe shape is disposed on the circumferential surface of the polyester tape 21. The foamed layer 13 in an inorganic matter filled polyolefin family is made of foam the foam magnifying power of which is 30, wherein 120 parts of magnesium hydroxide by weight is blended with 100 parts of resin compound mainly composed of ethylene-acetic acid vinyl copolymer.
