Title:
HEAT-INSULATING SUPPORT MATERIAL AND CONTAINER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03192129
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-insulating support material or container for cryogenic use having both excellent cryogenic and mechanical properties by using a fiber- reinforced resin wherein an aluminous fiber is used as the reinforcement and a synthetic resin is used as the matrix. CONSTITUTION:A heat-insulating support material or container for cryogenic use is obtained by using a fiber-reinforced resin wherein an luminous fiber (desirably one having 75-98wt.% alumina and 25-2wt.% silica which is preferably used in the form of a long fiber because it feature of high strength can be fully utilized) is used as the reinforcement and a thermosetting resin or a thermoplastic resin (e.g. epoxy resin or polyamide resin) is used as the matrix. The above support material or container has an excellent heat-insulating effect over a range from room temperature to a cryogenic temperature and excels in mechanical properties.
