Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine of which a cylinder bore wall has a highly uniform wall temperature.SOLUTION: A heat insulating tool for the cylinder bore wall includes a heat insulating rubber member 22 for contacting the wall face on the single-side half side out of all wall faces on the cylinder bore side of the middle lower part of a grooved cooling water flow path 14, the heat insulating rubber member having a contact-face-side shape along the wall face on the cylinder bore side of the middle lower part of the grooved cooling water flow path, a metal substrate member 21 to which the heat insulating rubber member is fixed, and elastic members 23 attached to the metal substrate member for energizing the metal substrate member to push the heat insulating rubber member against the wall face on the cylinder bore side of the middle lower part of the grooved cooling water flow path.
