Abstract:
To provide a heat-insulation-material thinning tool that is able to reduce the load of a work for decreasing a wall thickness of a heat insulation material covering a pipe, improve efficiency, and process a wall thickness to a uniform thickness and, moreover, that enables safe work without damaging the pipe.SOLUTION: A heat-insulation-material thinning tool 1 is a tool for reducing the thickness of a heat insulation material covering a pipe. A cylindrical body (an outer cylindrical body) 11 has an inner diameter equal to or larger than an outer diameter of the heat insulation material in order to receive the heat insulation material together with the pipe. Inside the cylindrical body, a guide pole 17, which has an outside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the pipe in order to be inserted into the pipe, is supported on its rear end side so as to be concentric with the cylindrical body. Between the cylindrical body and the guide pole, a blade body (an inner cylindrical body) 13 having a cutting edge at its leading end in order to divide a part of a leading-end side of the heat insulation material into two in a radial direction is supported by the cylindrical body on its rear end side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
