PURPOSE: To enable a heat pipe to be easily adapted for a complex flow passage shape and further to enable a high wick function to be attained even in the case that a flow passage shape is complex.
CONSTITUTION: A heat pipe 1 is constructed such that two metallic plates 2, 4 are joined to each other, one metallic plate 2 is expanded in its arcuate sectional shape to form an expanded part 2A, thereby a hollow flow passage 6 having a seal-circular section is formed along a connected surface between the metallic plates 2, 4 and then working fluid is enclosed in vacuum condition in the flow passage. Inner wall surfaces 6A, 6B of the flow passage 6 are roughed to have a central line mean roughness (Ra) over the entire surface of 0.002 to 0.5mm and they have a pair of grooves 5.
