Abstract:
To provide a heat processable image forming element having appropriate surface roughness measured by evacuation while also providing excellent adhesion of matte particles.
The heat processable image forming element includes (a) a substrate, (b) a heat processable image forming layer situated on one face of the substrate and (c) a protective layer containing a binder and matte particles containing a crosslinked polymer. The protective layer is a layer applied as a solution of the binder and the matte particles in a coating solvent, the binder is soluble in the coating solvent and the matte particles are swellable in the solvent to a degree of about 160-390%.
