Abstract:

To provide a heat pump system that appropriately generates electrical power even if the rotational frequency of a gas engine is fluctuated with variation in load on a heat pump, while generating electrical power with the use of driving force of the gas engine and driving the gas engine with high engine efficiency.

The heat pump system has a power generating means G comprising an induction motor 30 driven by the gas engine 2, and a motor side inverter 33 for outputting an exciting AC voltage for power generation by the induction motor 30; and an accessory side inverter 34 for converting DC power generated by the power generating means G into AC power. An operation controlling means 14 controls an operation so that, as the frequency of the exciting AC voltage output by the motor side inverter 33 is regulated to a frequency capable of bringing the induction motor 30 into a power generating function, the gas engine 2 drives the induction motor 30 simultaneously with a compressor 1, and the accessory side inverter 34 converts DC power generated by the power generating means G into AC power to supply it to an accessory.
