Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve heat radiating performance and make a heat radiating apparatus compact by making many holes for passing a cooling medium in parallel with a cooling surface in a metal block having cooling surfaces and arranging heat pipes in parallel with these holes in the metal block near the cooling surface.
CONSTITUTION: Many holes 5 for passing a cooling medium are made in an aluminum block 2, a torsion board formed from an aluminum plate is inserted in these holes 5, a through hole 10 for heat pipe is formed at one end portion of the block 2, and a heat pipe 6 is inserted in the heat radiating apparatus for heat generating body. Because of this, the cooling medium is gradually heated by the heat of a heat generating body which is transferred from a cooling surface 3 to holes 5, a temperature rise occurs, a difference higher than the allowable value occurs even in the temperature distribution of the heat generating body 4; however, the heat pipes 6 are orderly arranged in parallel with these holes 5 in the metal block near the cooling surface, so that the heat pipes 6 begin to operate based on the temperature difference in the direction of these holes 5 of the metal block 2 and heat is uniformly distributed.
