To provide a heat recovery apparatus for recovering heat on the outer peripheral side of a rotary kiln, which properly prevents a temperature of an outer cylinder part constituting the rotary kiln from becoming not lower than a heat resistant one.
The heat recovery apparatus 1 for recovering heat on the outer peripheral side of the rotary kiln 2 includes a cover member 8 covering the outer peripheral surface 4c of an outer cylinder part (iron cover) 4 via a predetermined space. In the cover member 8, an air inflow port, and an exhaust air port through which the air flowing in from the air inflow port and passing through the space between the outer peripheral surface 4c of the outer cylinder part 4 and the cover member 8 is discharged, are formed. A length of the cover member 8 in the longitudinal direction of the outer cylinder part 4 is set so that a difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures of a part arranged inside the cover member 8, in the outer cylinder part 4 is within a predetermined range. In the heat recovery apparatus 1, the flowing amount of the air passing through the space between the outer peripheral surface 4c of the outer cylinder part 4 and the cover member 8, is made adjustable for each cover member 8.
