Abstract:

To provide the heat reservoir for a regenerative combustion burner that has a long operating life so as to permit high heat recovery to be performed stably for a long period and realize small pressure loss.

In a heat reservoir comprising the material having alumina as a principle component of a regenerative combustion burner performing combustion while alternately repeating heat storage by the passage of high- temperature exhaust gas for a fixed time and heating of combustion air by the passage of the combustion air for the following fixed time, the purity of alumina at the high-temperature part, intermediate-temperature part and low- temperature part is lowered in this order in the case when metal dust is contained in the exhaust gas.
