Abstract:
To provide polyester fibers which maintain characteristics such as dimensional stability, high strength and durability and are simultaneously thermally not melted at high temperature or have excellent heat resistance, and to provide a material useful as the belt and carcass member of a tire from the fibers.
The heat-resistant cross-linked polyester fibers which have excellent heat resistance and in which or in whose surface layers an unsaturated compound is cross-linked are characterized by immersing polyester fibers comprising a copolyester in a compound having at least two unsaturated groups and then irradiating the treated fibers with electron beams or γ-rays.
