PURPOSE: To obtain a heat-resistant heat-insulation material excellent in water resistance, alkali resistance and chalking resistance, etc., by, e.g. grinding a specified heat- resistant heat-insulation composition, coating the ground product with a specified compound or resin, impregnating a woven or nonwoven fabric with it or mixing it with a lightweight aggregate.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-resistant heat-insulation material, a heat-resistant woven fabric, a heat-resistant material or the like is obtained by a process comprising grinding a heat-resistant heat-insulation composition and coating the ground composition with a synthetic resin, a fatty acid (ester) or triphenyl phosphate, a process comprising impregnating or coating a woven or nonwoven fabric with the above composition, or a process comprising mixing the above composition with a lightweight aggregate such as cut fibers, pearlite or 'shirasu' balloons. The above composition is one obtained by, e.g. a process comprising reacting a water-soluble silicate with an alkoxysilane derivative, a process comprising reacting a water-soluble silicate with an organosilica sol or a mixture of an alkoxysilane derivative with an organosilica sol, or a process comprising reacting an aluminosilicate which is obtained by reacting at least one member selected from among an aluminate, aluminum hydroxide, acid clay and a clay mineral so that the product may not lose its water solubility, with an alkoxysilane derivative and/or an organosilica sol.
