To provide inexpensive insulation paper which has excellent heat-resistant insulation, smoothness, water resistance and resistance to insulation oils and is used in electric cars, transformers for high-voltage power transmission, etc.

The heat-resistant insulation paper consists of two or more layers, and at least one outer layer is a polyamideimide resin layer of a glass transition temperature of ≥200°C. Preferably, the layers other than the polyamideimide resin layer of a glass transition temperature of ≥200°C are films and/or nonwoven fabrics composed of at least one of polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene naphthalate, aromatic polyamides, aromatic polyimides and polyamideimides other than the above polyamideimides.
