Title:
HEAT-RESISTANT MATERIAL, PARTICULARLY TO BE USED AS SUBSTITUTE FOR ASBESTOS IN DEVICE FOR TREATING HOT GLASS BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07187712
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a heat-resistant material which can be used particularly as asbestos substitute in devices for treating glass body, glass ceramic body and ceramic body at high temp.

CONSTITUTION: In fiber reinforced glass or fiber reinforced glass ceramics, a base material is borosilicate glass or the like and reinforcing fiber is carbon fiber, silicon carbide fiber or the like. The material is thereby mechanically stable, being easily joined, with long life and without leaving traces on hot glass body brought into contact therewith due to its low enough thermal conductance, high thermal shock and abrasion resistances. Furthermore it hardly requires lubricant.
