PURPOSE: To obtain the titled enzyme useful for the production of NADP from NAD, by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Corynebacterium genus and capable of producing heat-resistant nicotinamide-adenine dinucleotide kinase and collecting the objective enzyme from the culture product.
CONSTITUTION: A microbial strain belonging to Corynebacterium genus and capable of producing heat-resistant nicotinamide-adenine dinucleotide kinase (e.g. Corynebacterium flaccumfaciens AHU-1622, FERM-BP 731) is cultured in a medium, and the heat-resistant nicotinamide-adenine dinucleotide kinase produced and accumulated in the medium is separated therefrom. The enzyme reacts with nicotinamide-adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and adenosine triphosphate and forms nicotinamide-adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP) and adenosine diphosphate. The optimum pH is 7.2 and the optimum reaction temperature is 50°C.
