PURPOSE: To suppress cracking and to surely support a body to be heated by forming a high temp. part supporting the body to be heated with a cermet type upper structure and by coating the periphery of the structure with a heat resistant metal.
CONSTITUTION: This heat resistant support member is composed of an upper structure 2 consisting of a sintered core and a heat resistant metal 6 coating the core and the lower structure 3 in 0.5W2 volume ratio of the upper structure 2 to the lower structure 3. The sintered core is produced by dispensing 55W80vol.% nonspherical ceramic powder 4 of 1W5μm average particle size in metal or alloy powder 5 and sintering them. The lower structure 3 is made of a sintered or cast metal 7. Ceramics may be substd. for ≤80vol.% of the metal 7.
