PURPOSE: To produce a heat resistant supporting member, which is difficult to damage caused by heat load by dispersing non-spherical ceramic powder in metal powder under the specific condition to forma core material, coating the specific metal layer to this core material, sintering and diffusing and joining the interface of both.
CONSTITUTION: The non-spherical ceramic powder containing oxide series ceramic as main component having heat conductivity at 1/10 of the metals is dispersed at 55W80vol.% to the metal or alloy powder to provide the core body 1. The alloy powder 2 containing ≥20wt.% total of Cr and Co is filled into a soft steel can 3 around the core body 1, and precompacted, and gas is removed and sintered under pressurizing at ≥1,000°C by HIP, etc., to produce the heat resistant supporting member composing of the metal layer 5 (≥3mm average thickness) and sintered core body 4, which the interface of both is atomically diffused and joined. By this method, the heat resistant supporting member, which is useful to a skid button, hearth roll, etc., is obtd.
